Is this kit safe for children?
This kit does not use hot wax or heat equipment, which removes one of the most common candle-making hazards. We recommend adult supervision for younger children when handling the wax and wick, and when using any sharp items such as scissors for label trimming. Parents and educators can decide what level of involvement is right for their group.
Do I need to handle hot wax?
No. This is a no-heat kit — the scented wax is pre-prepared and ready to scoop into the jars. There is no melting, pouring of hot liquid, or open flame required during assembly.
Is it suitable for a classroom or group activity?
Yes. Each kit includes two 6 oz. jars, so one kit supports two candles. For a group session, we recommend ordering one of our larger kits.
What if someone is sensitive to fragrance?
The wax in this kit is pre-scented. If anyone in your group has known fragrance sensitivities or allergies, we recommend reviewing the kit contents before the activity. Using the kit in a ventilated space (open windows or light air circulation) is a good practice for any group setting.
What should I know about shipping and handling the kit?
The glass jars are packed with protective cushioning, but as with any glassware shipped by mail, there is a small chance of breakage in transit. Please inspect your package upon arrival. If a jar arrives broken, contact us right away with a photo and your order number and we will make it right. Store the kit at room temperature and avoid leaving it in a hot vehicle or direct sunlight, as heat may affect the wax before use.
